ADVANCED BUILDING TECHNOLOGY

In 2012, as a component part of their Advanced Building Technology Course, run by lecturer Francis Carter, the current Masters of Architecture (Prof) class were tasked with finding a building that exhibited exciting, interesting or innovative measures used in its construction. Each student adopted a case study approach in order to more fully understand some of the world’s best examples of architectural excellence and innovation.

The culmination of the effort was a 3-Dimensional rendering of a complex detail that epitomized the character and/or heart of the building. When one examines the in-depth technical analysis achieved via incredibly detailed renderings, it becomes clear that the University of Cape Town has produced an incredibly talented Master’s class of 2013.

Whether browsing casually, or doing technical research we hope that you take some pleasure in the work displayed here.
